school’s brief history:

1.National Miaoli Senior High School(MLSH) was founded in April,1941. Located in the downtown area in Miaoli City, MLSH attracts a lot of talented students with its beautiful campus, well-equipped hardware and software teaching facilities, and diverse school activities.

2. MLSH has been hailed as “the top-ranked senior high school in Miaoli” with its specialized classes such as art classes, math and English gifted classes. In addition, it offers a wide range of elective courses for students to choose from and develop their interests in different fields such as inventing robots and programming. Some students even won the national robot competitions from time to time. In brief, students in MLSH are outstanding not only in academic performances but also in other domains.

3. MLSH has long been devoted to caring and empathizing the community by designing courses to publicize the local culture (Hakka) and to solve local issues. It was thus credited as a premium high school in developing and promulgating Hakka culture by the Ministry of Education in 2019.

4. Prompted by globalization, MLSH regularly offers chances for students to take part in international exchanges to help students cultivate global mindsets. Also, it cooperates with the local college,National United University(NUU), to propel the students to interact with the exchange students at NUU. Last but not the least, MLSH also develops some elective courses to expose students to cultural diversity and engage in global actions.

MLSH has put a lot of effort into broadening students’ horizons by enhancing their language abilities to communicate with people from around the world using lingua franca and offering chances for international exchanges.

With the hands-on practices and the resources to transform their ideas into real works, students at MLSH are able to test the theories and solve the problems in the process.

MLSH carries out plans to improve the locals’ lives. Students are invited to discover the problems their hometown is facing and come up with viable solutions with the help of teachers from different subjects.
